I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA). I received my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (M.M.F.T.) in 2007 from Abilene Christian University where I received the Spirit of the Counselor award from the academic department. I received my undergraduate degree (BA) with emphases in business and vocational ministry from Oklahoma Christian University in 2005.
I am an Associate Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and have about two years of direct experience counseling individuals, couples, families, and adolescents in clinical, Christian university, and church settings.
I began to pursue the counseling field as a means of making a lasting impact in the community for God's kingdom. I have been married to my husband, David for three years. My husband and I moved to Terrell in December of 2007.
Therapeutic Services:
My training and education has prepared me to work with individuals, couples, and families. I do see individuals alone, however, I generally view a client's problems as part of his or her larger family system. As a result, I prefer to see clients together with their spouses or families if possible. My education and experience has equipped me to assist people with a variety of concerns such as premarital counseling, marital difficulties, problems with adjusting to new and stressful life situations, depression, anxiety, grief, children's behavioral problems, and issues concerning spirituality. I work best with clients who are interested in working toward enhancing their marital relationship. I am not qualified to prescribe medication. If it comes to my attention that medication would be helpful to you, I would be happy to refer you to a psychiatrist or physician who can provide such treatment. At times, I may make referrals to physicians or specialists or consult with other professionals in order to provide collaborative care.
I am committed to offering the highest quality of therapeutic services to the community. As a professional with an Associate's license, I am required to maintain supervision of all cases by an American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy approved supervisor. Clinical supervision assures that quality attention is given to the needs of those utilizing therapeutic services. My supervisor is not a member of the Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ, and all information is kept confidential between therapist and supervisor. If you have questions you would like to direct to my supervisor, I would be happy to provide you with her contact information.
Fees & Scheduling:
My basic fee is $50.00 per 50-60 minute session. If you schedule a double session (100 minutes), you will be charged for two sessions. Payment plans can be arranged to accommodate tight budgets.
For Rockwall & Brin congregation members, I do not charge a fee for the first session, which may last up to 50 minutes. For those clients who are not members of Rockwall & Brin, the usual $50 fee will be applied.
I do not accept insurance assignments at this time, however, you may request a copy of your account to claim insurance yourself. Payment may be made in the form of cash or check.
Sessions are made by appointment only. This allows me to schedule sessions at a time which is convenient for you such as after work, school, or during work breaks. Sessions generally are scheduled once per week in increments of 50 minutes or 100 minutes, however, we can adjust scheduling to fit your needs.
I am happy to take new clients at this time.
